With the departure of Brian Topp from the Kool Topp & Guy Public Affairs partnership to become Chief of Staff to the Premier of Alberta, we have restructured our firm and branded it KTG Public Affairs. We congratulate our friend and former Partner on the historic NDP win and wish him all the best in his new endeavor.

KTG Public Affairs is a public affairs partnership between Don Guy and Ken Boessenkool. We are pleased to announce that we have hired long time New Democrat Jamey Heath as Senior Strategist as of June 1, 2015 and have also brought on Ramiro Mora as an associate.

Jamey Heath is one of Canada’s most astute observers of the changes underway in progressive politics. He played senior roles as Jack Layton grew the federal New Democrats, including communications director for his leadership campaign; and research and communications director on Parliament Hill. After the NDP became official opposition, he has written about the changes underway in progressive politics in Canada’s leading publications. He co-managed Nathan Cullen’s engaging campaign to lead the NDP in 2012.

He has worked in and for leading organizations in civil society, including environmental groups, unions and in the affordable housing sector. Since leaving Ottawa, he has worked extensively abroad, in public affairs and civil society in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Jamey has a bachelor of Journalism from Carleton.

Ramiro Mora is a longtime New Democrat who grew up in Calgary and ran for the Alberta NDP in the 2001 election. He was a founding member of the campus New Democrats and served as secretary treasurer during his time at the University of Calgary.

He worked at Queen’s Park for six years as the Executive Assistant and then Senior Advisor to the Leader of the Ontario NDP. Ramiro holds a Master of Business, a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
